The Murfreesboro, Tennessee Mosque Dispute

                Islam is arguably an aggressive religion.  It wants to convert the world.  Islamic terrorists have struck fear into the American psychic.  Besides the destruction of 9-11, the Islamic terrorists have left a wake of destruction and death around the world.  In the United States alone billions have been spent on security programs designed to detect and foil further attacks.  Take Homeland Security for example, millions and millions of dollars is consumed by Homeland Security to duplicate what the FBI, CIA and ICE is already charged with doing.  I don’t think Homeland Security has necessarily made America safer, it just made government bigger.

                In spite of the terrorism perpetrated by Muslims home and abroad, according to the Guinness Book of World Records Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. It may not be the fastest growing religion in the US, but it is growing at an “alarming” rate.  According to the Internet no one knows for sure how many Muslims there are in the US, but most pundits agree there is well over a million adults.  And there are at least 209 mosques scattered throughout the US with many more contemplated. 

                In a little town in Tennessee called Murfreesboro with a population of 108,755, there is a heated dispute over the building of a mosque.  A building permit for a mosque and Islamic Center had been granted but when excavation started the Christian majority in Murfreesboro mobilized and have taken every legal action conceivable to keep the mosque and Islamic Center from being built.  In searching the Internet it appears that there are only 200 Muslims living in Murfreesboro and the 15 acre “mega-mosque” seems way elaborate and way out of proportion to the Muslim population.

                In the course of the legal battles and the highly emotional appeals made by Christians to the town council, a sign and equipment on the mosque site have been vandalized. 

                CNN aired a documentary on the Murfreesboro mosque in which principals on both sides were interviewed.  It appeared that many of the Muslins were of Middle Eastern decent.  The imam was from Egypt, and the imam, speaking in broken English did a good job of playing the victim.

                What the Christians in this little town apparently don’t realize is that they had fallen into a Muslim trap.  They made the Muslims victims which is a win/win situation for Islam.  I understand the town’s concern.  But under the First Amendment there is no way they are going to stop the construction of the mosque.  All they did is delay it with mischief that is interpreted as persecution.  Persecution unites and in a country that bends to political correctness, it is the persecuted that receives the sympathy.  And that is how CNN framed their story.

                There are two good books that expose the goal of fundamentalist Muslims to capture the United States by stealth:  American Jihad, The Terrorists Living Among Us, by Steven Emerson, and Stealth Jihad, How Radical Islam Is Subverting America without Guns or Bombs, by Robert Spencer.  Both of these authors are legitimate journalists with genuine, distinguished reputations.  In both books the authors show by documentation how various Islamic organizations such as the Muslim Brotherhood are pumping money into the United States to American Islamic institutions to build mosques with the goal of portraying Islam as a peace loving religion. The home base of the Islamic Brotherhood is Egypt where the Murfreesboro imam is from.  If Emerson and Spencer are correct, the Islamic strategy is to use political correctness and the First Amendment to gradually dupe Americans into accepting Sharia Law.  

                Emerson and Spencer are not the only moguls speaking out.  On Sept. 3, 2011, Oskar Freysinger, a member of the Swiss Parliament gave a speech in Berlin warning that there is an Islamic dogma movement with the goal of taking over Europe.  His speech can be heard on The Blaze.com. the context of which ties in harmoniously with the messages of Emerson and Spencer. 

                Islam is not just a religious persuasion; it is a theocracy, meaning a government ruled religion.  Islam is in competition with all other religions.  Because of the spread of terrorism by Islamic fanatics, Islam is not welcome in many American communities.  But like it or not we are bound by our Constitution.  And like it or not there are American brains so wired by genes and environment making them vulnerable to Islam. 

                We Americans are a funny bunch, a blend of many races and creeds from around the world.  In the thirties many Americans embraced Nazism – even marched In parades wearing brown shirts and swastikas on their biceps.  Many American also embraced Communism – and I suppose many (Marxists) still do.  We took the immorality out of homosexuality and made it moral – and in some cases heroic. 

                While Americans held vigil over the Tenth Anniversary of 9/11, Muslims demonstrated before the American Embassy in London – denouncing America and burning the American flag.  The world is changing and so is America.  Now that we have dignified homosexuals buggering each other there is a movement to decriminalize polygamy, allowing men to take as many wives as they can inveigle  - meaning by hook or crook.  Pornography, the more bizarre the better, is now legitimate reading material.  And in thinking about the changing morality in American Alexander Pope’s passage concerning vice keeps popping into my head.

                Vice is a monster of so frightful mien

                As to be hated needs but to be seen;

                Yet soon too oft, familiar with her face,

                We first endure, then pity, then embrace.
